Another year in Copenhagen
Then it’s time for a new year trip with pictures. The last year remains for those who want to experience the seasons of 2024 here in Copenhagen. But for the rest of us who want to make the most of the new year, this is where it happens!
Winter makes a late arrival
New year and as always we are just as unprepared for the fact that it really is winter. January here, however, usually brings snow in some form and that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

One morning outside the embassy
A passive demonstration is taking place outside the Russian embassy. The January cold really gives a dimension to the hardships those affected have to endure.

The happy snowman in the cemetery
Assistens Cemetery is a public cemetery where many people spend their free time. So that a snowman appears next to the graves is not the least bit surprising.

On a side street to Istedgade
An artist generously exposes his basement studio from the street. And when winter darkness prevails, the works stand out all the more.

The Copenhagen light festival
When the winter darkness feels the hardest in early February, the Light Festival starts. And with a large number of interesting light installations around the city, you can almost sense the approaching spring light.

When the winter cold sets in
Copenhagen has also received what can be called more real winter weather. And this in contrast to the warm green laser in the sky that is part of the Light festival.

Spring is in the air
A passenger ship bound for Oslo in Norway steers out into the afternoon sun.
In fact, spring has finally arrived in Copenhagen according to the calendar. The meteorological one was actually even earlier.
The photo was taken up at Konditaget Lüders in Nordhavn. (BIG HQ building to the left.)

Happiness is dancing
Happy people are dancing outside Christiansborg Palace and King VII is probably watching.

Along the lakes
Strollers and cafe guests enjoy the spring sun along the lakes. In just a few weeks there will be even more people here.

In the passage at Christiansborg slot
The shadows are now starting to get really short and that’s a good sign after a long winter.

And so Tivoli has opened again
Tivoli has finally opened for the season. And the abundant Easter decorations are truly unmistakable.

Another Copenhell
We are slowly but surely approaching summer. This is especially noticeable in the classic Tuborg Guld cans, which is organizing a competition ahead of the popular Copenhell music festival.

Easter
So it was Easter again in Copenhagen. And of course there are quite a few Easter motifs to choose from. But this mural along Vesterbrogade has to be the pick of the holiday.

The boot and the downpipe
Practical solutions are always at hand in Copenhagen, even when the flow of water needs to be restricted.

Sunday evening in Kødbyen
Now the evenings are really starting to get brighter. And a Sunday in April can be so peaceful even in the middle of the city.

Friday Night Skate
Copenhageners and everyone else get together on roller blades and ride through the city. And there’s a big crowd of happy people that gather every time.

May the 4th be with you
So we finally have the month of May, and with it comes Star Wars Day. And it is celebrated in Copenhagen with all that it entails. But isn’t that galactic warrior staring at me a little too much? Huh…

Traffic chaos in the city center
When the traffic lights stop working at an intersection, even the most peaceful Copenhagener will use the horn.

Soldiers parade
You shouldn’t be surprised if you see these soldiers in the morning. They march regularly and are a popular feature of the city. They are usually accompanied by a small group of enthusiasts.

Summer in the park
Parks are a very popular destination in summer and various events take place regularly.

Copenhagen by bike
After a rather rainy summer, the weather has improved significantly, inviting you to take exciting bike rides in the Copenhagen surroundings.

Grundtvig’s Church
Over by Gruntvig’s Church you can enjoy the tall trees that frame the building so beautifully.
And to make the building a little extra interesting, it has been noted for having appeared in one of the Shrek films!
It’s supposed to be really exciting to get up the tower. But this is only possible when it’s a public tour (not for free). More info about this here (Danish).

On the road to Dragør
South on city there is a road towards Dragør. But first you have to get under the airstrip while planes are taking off or landing.

Then it was autumn again
So autumn really arrived. We had an early October day with massive rain combined with really strong winds. Yes, the rain was so intense that the water in several places couldn’t drain away…

Election times
It’s soon election in Copenhagen and now it’s time to get votes. Luna is one of those who want to take responsibility for the future. I guess.

Street finds
Just walk around in central Copenhagen. Suddenly you stand outside an interesting gate that really sparks your imagination…

Another Christmas season over at Tivoli
And so Tivoli has finally opened its doors for this year’s Christmas season. Yes, here in Copenhagen, November is perhaps the hottest Christmas month.

Pay what you feel
As always at Christmas time, many people are out and about in the city. And those who are a little resourceful set up a passive business and hope that the money will roll in.
