Carlsberg Byen, a brown brick dream

A former brewery area undergoing transformation

Where Carlsberg previously housed its brewery plant, an intense transformation is underway. A neighborhood on its previous theme is taking shape at high speed.
And in fact, much is preserved from its heyday as a brewery. So a walk here is like a historical walk in the most modern environment. The classic Elephant Gate elephants are in place just as they usually are, and a series of buildings from the past have been meticulously preserved for posterity. But brand new buildings also take their place and here are also some of the city’s tallest buildings.
So when you visit Copenhagen, Carlsberg Byen is an exciting hint of how the city is changing and the environments of the future are emerging. But brown brick, it still applies almost everywhere.
